The second round of men's and women's singles play concluded on Thursday evening at the 2025 US Open. Now that we’re down to 32 men and women in each singles draw, let’s take a look at the numbers that are currently moving the needle in Flushing Meadows.
1: Number of teenagers remaining across both singles draws: Mirra Andreeva.
2: Two men are in the hunt for the men’s singles No. 1 ranking at the US Open. Current world No. 1 Jannik Sinner needs to outperform his rival Carlos Alcaraz by a round to maintain the top ranking after the US Open. If he does not, Alcaraz will return to No.1.
3: Players aged 37 or older that reached the third round: Novak Djokovic (38), Adrian Mannarino (37), Laura Siegemund (37).
4. Number of American men that reached the third round: Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Frances Tiafoe, Tommy Paul.
5: Qualifiers into the third round: Jerome Kym, Coleman Wong, Jan-Lennard Struff, Leandro Riedi and Priscilla Hon.
6: Number of games dropped by Emma Raducanu through two rounds, the least of all players remaining in the singles fields.
7: Number of men that reached Round 3 without dropping a set (that played two completed matches): Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur, Alexander Bublik, and Tomas Machac.
8: Number of former US Open champions into round three: Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Emma Raducanu, Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka

9: Teenagers that started the women’s singles draw in Flushing Meadows. Only one—Mirra Andreeva—remains.
10: The length of Alexander Bublik’s current winning streak. The Kazakhstani won back-to-back titles in Gstaad and Kitzbuhel before his wins over Marin Cilic and Tristan Schoolkate in Flushing Meadows.
12: Number of former Grand Slam champions still alive in the third round: Djokovic, Sinner, Alcaraz, Raducanu, Barbora Krejcikova, Victoria Azarenka, Swiatek, Sabalenka, Rybakina, Gauff, Osaka, Marketa Vondrousova.

23: With his Day 5 win over Alexei Popyrin, Jannik Sinner extended his hard court winning streak at the Grand Slams to 23.
23: Iga Swiatek is the only WTA player to have reached at least the third round at every Grand Slam event played this decade – a streak of 23 third-round appearances at the majors.
26: Priscilla Hon leads all women’s singles players with 26 aces through two rounds.
37: Two players 37 or older (Adrian Mannarino and Novak Djokovic) have reached the third round at consecutive Grand Slam events for the first time in the Open Era.
40: 2025 runner-up Taylor Fritz defeated Lloyd Harris to make it at least 40 wins in each of his last four seasons.
51: Number of aces struck by American Martin Damm through two rounds, which leads all players. The 6’8” southpaw was eliminated by Frances Tiafoe on Day 4.
75: Number of third-round appearances at the majors made by Novak Djokovic, which propels him past Roger Federer for most all-time.
100: With her 6-3, 6-3 win over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, two-time major champion Victoria Azarenka became the fifth woman in the Open Era to claim 100 or more main draw wins at hard court majors, after Steffi Graf, Lindsay Davenport and the Williams sisters.
191: With his round two win over Zachary Zvajda, Djokovic has tied Federer on the all-time hard court Grand Slam win list.
