No. 28 seed Jennifer Brady defeated No. 23 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan, 6-3, 6-2, to advance to the first Grand Slam semifinal of her career on Tuesday at the 2020 US Open.
Brady has not dropped a set en route to the semifinals, defeating Anna Blinkova, Cici Bellis, Caroline Garcia and 2016 US Open champion Angelique Kerber before her win over Putintseva. She has lost just 24 games total in the tournament so far.
The 25-year-old former UCLA star will play the winner of the quarterfinal match between No. 4 seed and 2018 women's champion Naomi Osaka and another first-time American quarterfinalist Shelby Rogers, which is taking place this evening in Arthur Ashe Stadium.
