Admittedly, it’s tough to stop thinking about the 2025 US Open. The unparalleled excitement. The unequaled drama. The remarkable talent of tennis’ greatest stars on brilliant display across this sport’s greatest stages. Add in the irresistible atmosphere that is always equal parts frenetic, festive and fun and it equaled three unforgettable weeks, conjuring up memories that will last a lifetime. Indeed, by the time Aryna Sabalenka and Carlos Alcaraz lifted their trophies as singles champions, the 2025 US Open had—once again—redefined “spectacular.” It’s getting to be a habit here.
In short, it’s perfectly understandable if you can’t stop thinking about the 2025 US Open. But with the New Year fast approaching, it’s likewise a good time to start thinking about the 2026 US Open. The 2026 event promises to deliver another three weeks of thrills, with a slightly new schedule.
In 2026, the US Open will be held from Sunday, August 23-Sunday, September 13, with Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day now kicking off Week 1’s US Open Fan Week on August 23. Fan Week, which features the US Open Qualifying Tournament, will also once again host the re-imagined US Open Mixed Doubles Championship, which immediately became a fan-favorite when it introduced its new format in 2025. Main draw singles play will begin on Sunday, August 30. Ticket on-sale dates for the 2026 US Open will be announced in the not-too-distant future. Make sure to sign up to be a US Open Insider so you’ll be among the first to hear when tickets go on sale.
So by all means, hang on to those memories from the 2025 US Open, but make sure to circle the dates on your calendar and plan to be a part of the 2026 event. So much fun. So much excitement. So many thrills.
So much to think about.
