The singles quarterfinals concluded Wednesday night at the 2025 US Open. Now that we’re down to four men and women in each singles draw, let’s take a look at the numbers that are currently moving the needle in Flushing Meadows.
Players aged 35 or older that reached the semifinal: Novak Djokovic (38). The 24-time major champion is now the oldest player in the Open Era to reach all four men’s singles semifinals at Grand Slam events in a season.
Women who have yet to drop a set through the quarterfinals: Jessica Pegula and Aryna Sabalenka.
Jannik Sinner's hard-court winning streak at the majors (26) is tied with Djokovic and Ivan Lendl for the third-longest in Open Era history.
This year’s US Open marks the first time we have four repeat men’s singles semifinalists (Sinner, Alcaraz, Djokovic, Auger-Aliassime) at the event since 2018 (del Potro, Djokovic, Federer, Nishikori).
Carlos Alcaraz became the fifth player to reach nine major semifinals before turning 23 with his Day 10 win over Jiri Lehecka.
Felix Auger-Aliassime has won all six tiebreaks he has played at this year’s US Open. He won two more during his 4-6, 7-6(7), 7-5, 7-6(4) quarterfinal victory over Alex de Minaur, which dropped the Aussie to 0-6 lifetime in Grand Slam quarterfinals.
Moms that entered the 2025 US Open women’s singles draw—Elina Svitolina, Victoria Azarenka, Belinda Bencic, Tatjana Maria, Taylor Townsend, Petra Kvitova and Naomi Osaka.
Osaka is the only one into the semis, and is two wins from becoming the first mom to win a major since Kim Clijsters at the 2011 Australian Open.
This year’s US Open marks the third time in the Open Era that all eight quarterfinalists had previously reached a Grand Slam final, along with Wimbledon 1981 and 1976.
Total US Open titles won by this year’s singles semifinalists: Djokovic (4), Alcaraz (1), Sinner (1), Osaka (2), Sabalenka (1).
Auger-Aliassime has notched multiple Top 10 wins at a Slam for the first time. He defeated world No. 3 Zverev in the third round and world No. 8 De Minaur in the quarterfinals.
Defending champions Sinner and Sabalenka stretched their US Open winning streaks to 12 with their quarterfinal wins.
-0: Osaka remains unbeaten when she has reached the quarterfinals or beyond in major tournaments. She is now 5-0 in quarterfinals, to go with 4-0 in semifinals and finals. Osaka (10-0) has never dropped a set in a major quarterfinal.
Osaka’s projected new WTA ranking, taking into account her semifinal run. She was ranked No. 88 this time last year.
Years since a mom has won a US Open title: Clijsters in 2010.
Sabalenka has won 18 consecutive tiebreaks after recording her latest successful breaker during her third-round win over Leylah Fernandez, 6-3, 7-6(2).
Number of return winners struck by Amanda Anisimova through the quarterfinals, which leads all singles players, male or female. Anisimova is one of two active American women to have reached major semifinals on all three surfaces, along with Venus Williams.
With Taylor Fritz’s loss to Djokovic on Tuesday night, the American men’s drought without a US Open men’s singles title officially reaches 22 years.
Number of games dropped by Pegula through four rounds, fewest of all singles players.
Percent of unreturned second serves struck by Carlos Alcaraz, which leads all players. 39 of the Spaniard’s 119 second serves have not come back.
-2: Sabalenka’s record at the hard-court majors since the start of 2022. She lost to Gauff in the 2023 US Open final and Madison Keys in this year’s Australian Open final.
Total number of Grand Slam titles previously won by this year’s semifinalists: Djokovic (24), Osaka (4), Alcaraz (5), Sinner (4), Sabalenka (3).
Americans that played the singles event at the 2025 US Open. Two—Pegula and Anisimova—are through to the semis.
-4: Sinner’s record on hard courts since the start of 2024. Three of those losses have come against his main rival Alcaraz.
Fritz takes over the tournament ace lead with 74, but Auger-Aliassime leads all remaining players through the quarterfinals with 69.
Alcaraz has won 68 of 69 service games through five rounds, nearly 99% effective.
