Quarterfinals: Iga Swiatek vs. Amanda Anisimova
Arthur Ashe Stadium — Day Session — Second Match
- In a rematch of this year's Wimbledon final, Swiatek and Anisimova will once again meet deep into a Grand Slam fortnight. Wednesday's afternoon showdown will be their second career meeting, following Swiatek's 6-0, 6-0 domination on the London lawns.
- After winning her first Wimbledon title, Swiatek is seeking her second US Open crown and her seventh major singles trophy overall. Her 2022 US Open title is her lone hard-court major triumph, alongside her four Roland Garros crowns.
- Anisimova, a junior champion here in 2017, is enjoying her best run at her home major. She entered the tournament with a 3-5 record in New York and has more than doubled her win total en route to the quarterfinals. Outside of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, she reached the Roland Garros semifinals in 2019 and the Wimbledon quarters in 2022, in addition to her London final run this summer.
- Swiatek rides a nine-match winning streak into the quarterfinals on the heels of her run to the Cincinnati title. She did not drop a set at the WTA 1000 event, and she's lost just one set in New York, to Suzan Lamens in the second round. Swiatek's Wimbledon title also came with a loss of just one set.
- Anisimova posted a 3-2 record in between Wimbledon and the US Open, losing to Elina Svitolina in Montreal and Anna Kalinskaya in Cincinnati. Like Swiatek, she had lost only a single set in her four victories this fortnight, to Jaqueline Cristian in Round 3.
- Both Swiatek and Anisimova produced arguably their best performance of the 2025 US Open in the fourth round. Swiatek made light work of 13th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova, 6-3, 6-1, while Anisimova cruised past 18th-seed Beatriz Haddad Maia, 6-0, 6-3.
- Awaiting Swiatek or Anisimova in the US Open semifinals, to be played on Thursday, will be the winner of the evening quarterfinal between Karolina Muchova and Naomi Osaka.
