World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka knows how to serve some winners. But during a recent trip to Fini Pizza in Brooklyn, N.Y., she learned some new moves: slicing up pizza for her fans.
“Let me know if I’m a good pizza-maker or not,” Sabalenka said, handing pizza to visitors from behind the counter.
Donning gloves and a white apron, Sabalenka decorated her pie with cheese, sauce, pepperoni and a drizzle of honey—an iconic combination for an iconic star.
“I’ve always been a fan, but now I’m an even bigger fan,” said one person, after trying Sabalenka’s creation.
Addressing the crowd, Sabalenka encouraged everyone to come out and show their support during the 2025 US Open, where she’s already cooking up a strong performance. The defending US Open ousted unseeded Polina Kudermetova, 7-6(4), 6-2, in her second-round match on Wednesday night. Next, she’ll take on No. 31 seed Canadian Leylah Fernandez in Round 3.
