The final day of the men’s qualifying tournament saw some action-packed play around the grounds. Thirty-two players battled for 16 coveted spots in the 2025 US Open main draw. Several are making their US Open main draw debuts, with some even making their first appearance in the main draw of a major—only three players are returning to the big dance when it begins on Sunday.
Meet the 16 men who secured their spot in the 2025 US Open main draw:
Martin Damm
American Martin Damm received a wild card into this year’s qualies tournament. Now, he’s officially secured his first main draw berth at a major after winning all three matches in straight sets. The young American—who is following in his father’s tennis footsteps—is looking to make a statement at his home Slam after winning two hard-court ITF titles this year, and made deep runs in two others earlier this summer. He will face compatriot Darwin Blanch in the first round.
Pablo Llamas Ruiz
Pablo Llamas Ruiz is a young, up-and coming Spaniard who qualified for his first ever US Open main draw Friday. This is Llamas Ruiz’s second grand slam main draw this year, as he qualified for Roland Garros back in May. He continued his ATP tour success as he made the quarterfinals of Umag in July. He now joins seven of his fellow Spaniards in the US Open main draw.
Ignacio Buse
Ignacio Buse was the only male Peruvian player in this year’s qualifying draw, and he will be the sole person representing Peru in this year’s men’s main draw. The 21-year-old has also qualified for his first US Open main draw and will be making his Grand Slam debut here in Flushing Meadows.
Buse has had a good summer, first winning an ATP Challenger title on the clay in Heilbronn back in June, and followed that result with a semifinal run in Gstaad one month later. He has beaten some ATP tour veterans this summer such as Daniel Elahi Galan, Daniel Altmaier and Laslo Djere. The Peruvian is looking to build on a strong summer and close out the Grand Slam season on a high note.
Jan-Lennard Struff
The former world No. 21 Jan-Lennard Struff earned his tenth US Open main-draw appearance after defeating the No. 1 seed Arthur Cazaux in the final round of qualifying. The German is looking to end his summer on a high note, with his best ATP result this year coming on the clay courts of Kitzbuhel where he made the quarterfinals.
After a great qualifying tournament, Struff is looking to better his best career US Open showing--a third round finish in 2020.
Zachary Svajda
Zachary Svajda earned a spot in the US Open main draw for the fifth time. He joins Damm as the two American men qualifiers entering this year’s main draw. The 22-year-old is looking to better his second round result here from 2021.
The American made the semifinals of an ATP Challenger in Ilkley and then won two Challenger titles in the U.S. in July: one on the grass in Newport and one at the hard court tournament in Lexington.
Lloyd Harris
2021 US Open quarterfinalist Lloyd Harris is back in the main draw of the US Open for the first time in two years.
The former world No.31 had season-ending wrist surgery in 2022 and has been making significant strides back towards the Top 100. In 2024, Harris won three Challenger titles - two on hard courts and one on grass - which propelled him just outside the Top 130 by the end of the year. The South African has made eight Grand Slam tournament appearances since his surgery and is looking to better his recent second round result at Wimbledon to cap off the year.
Jesper De Jong
Jesper de Jong, 25, will be making his US Open main draw debut this year after a breakthrough year.
De Jong broke into the Top 100 for the first time in his career in March 2025 and in May reached the third round of the Masters 1000 event in Rome. His steady rise up the rankings continued this summer, reaching a career high No. 79 thanks to his results in Bastad (where he lost to Luciano Darderi in the final) and a quartefinal run in Umag. Now, the Dutchman is looking to build upon his successful summer here in New York.
Zsombor Piros
Zsombor Piros, 25, is making his Grand Slam debut at the 2025 US Open. The Hungarian has an accomplished ITF and Challenger resume winning 12 singles titles, two of which came earlier this year on clay. The 2017 Australian Open boys singles champion, Piros ons a career-high singles ranking of No. 106.
Dino Prizmic
Dino Prizmic is making his first-ever US Open appearance, marking his second Grand Slam main draw appearance (he qualified for the Australian Open main draw earlier this year).
The Croatian has had a strong year at the Challenger and ITF level with a 37-11 record between the clay and hard courts with his most recent hard-court run coming in Poland where he made the final. The two titles that he’s earned this year both came on the clay..
Shintaro Mochizuki
Shintaro Mochizuki is making his US Open debut this year and his second main draw appearance at a Grand Slam after reaching the second round of Wimbledon earlier this summer.
The 22-year-old Japanese captured his second career Challenger title this year—his first on hard court—and is looking to build upon his hard court success as he notched 22 of his 35 wins this year on the surface.
Francesco Passaro
Francesco Passaro will make his US Open main draw appearance and his third Grand Slam main draw appearance at this year's US Open. The 24-year-old Italian broke into the Top 100 at the beginning of this season, reaching a career high of No. 89 in February after some strong results late in the 2024 season. In May, Passaro knocked out Grigor Dimitrov in the second round to reach the third round of the Italian Open for the second consecutive year.
Coleman Wong
Coleman Wong will make his first-ever Grand Slam and US Open main-draw appearance in Flushing Meadows this year. Wong was the only person from his country (Hong Kong) in the qualifying draw, and now in the US Open's main draw. Wong is no stranger to the US Open, he had success here as a junior, lifting the boys doubles trophy in 2021. Wong has had previous success on hard courts, winning two ITF World Tennis Tour titles on the surface back in 2023.
Jerome Kym
Jerome Kym, the No. 2 Swiss men's player, Kym may be making his US Open main draw debut, but he is no stranger to Flushing Meadows. As a junior, Kym, now 22 and ranked No. 176, made the boys semifinals here in 2021 and will now look to make a statement in the tournament's main draw.
Ugo Blanchet
Ugo Blanchet, the 26-year-old Frenchman, will be making his first career US Open main-draw appearance and his second main draw appearance at a Slam this year. Blanchet has had a good year on the hard courts with 14 of his 23 wins this year coming on that surface. Blanchet won one Challenger-level title this year on the hard court at the beginning of the season in Germany.
Federico Agustin Gomez
Federico Agustin Gomez, the 28-year-old Argentine, is making his US Open main-draw debut this year. It's his second Grand Slam appearance in 2025 after reaching the second round of Roland Garros in May. Gomez, who played collegiate tennis at the University of Louisville, owns a career high ranking of No. 133, and is now ranked No. 206.
Leandro Riedi
Leandro Riedi qualified for his first US Open main draw on Friday afternoon after besting American Garrett Johns, just weeks after he qualified for his first major main-draw appearance at Wimbledon. En route to the main draw, Riedi beat all three of his opponents in straight sets, and will face Pedro Martinez in the first round.
