The fan-favorite ‘Advantage Arena’ immersive gaming lounge will return to the US Open for the second consecutive year. More than 40 million gamers are expected to enjoy tennis-themed games online and on-site over the three-week US Open as the USTA seeks to broaden the appeal of the world’s healthiest sport among new audiences. Expanded tennis-themed gameplay in Fortnite, Roblox, Tennis Clash and Nex Playground, new for 2025, are available to play at Advantage Arena and digitally worldwide this year.
“Bringing the US Open and the sport of tennis to platforms like Roblox, Fortnite, Nex Playground and Tennis Clash is a true game-changer for us,” said Brian Ryerson, senior director of digital strategy at the USTA.
“Our focus is on growing both the game of tennis and US Open fandom by meeting new audiences where they already play—in fun, immersive game experiences. These games are built to feel authentic to each platform’s style and gameplay, while weaving in core tennis concepts that spark curiosity and grow both the sport and the US Open in fresh, unexpected ways. On-site, the Advantage Arena is where fans can drop in, get hands-on and explore all the ways tennis is showing up across some of the most popular gaming platforms in the world. It’s where the digital court meets the real one—and it’s only getting bigger.”
Advantage Arena will be open to all US Open patrons throughout the duration of the 2025 US Open, beginning with the free-to-attend Fan Week, starting on August 18. It will also feature a new location for 2025: an outdoor booth near Stadium 17. Fans at home can also join in on the fun by playing online, ensuring that everyone can be a part of the action.
What to Expect in This Year’s ‘Advantage Arena’ Gaming Zone
‘US Open: Champions of the Court’ returns for a third year on Roblox, with more than 12 million players to date. Champions of the Court features the immersive US Open world that includes gameplay such as singles and doubles matches against pro players and treasure hunts and obstacle courses known as ‘Obbys.’ US Open partner integrations include the Ralph Lauren Ball Crew Obby and Emirates ‘Fly Better’ Adventure Zone. New in 2025, players can join quests to find Cadillac-branded keys and La Roche-Posay-branded sunscreen to unlock exclusive UGCs, as well as discover a portal to Ralph Lauren’s “Polo Beach” world.
Fortnite – ‘Tennis Storm’ returns for a second consecutive year after it drew nearly eight million players since it was created exclusively for the US Open last year by TikTokers Birdo and Dagwummy. Tennis Storm returns this year with all-new gameplay, alongside a new minigame called ’Power Serve,’ both of which are available to play within Minigame Box PVP. The US Open is also expanding into two additional Fortnite islands in 2025, with games built inside of ‘Boom Tycoon’ and ‘Easy Parkour.’ Game creators Birdo and Dagwummy will also be onsite August 18th to meet fans.
Tennis Clash is also returning for its fourth US Open season. Players will be able to play on a US Open-inspired main court as recognizable players and experience new, US Open-themed power-ups and unlockables, including Wilson-branded strings.
Nex Playground, an active play system that tracks motion and natural body movements, will join Advantage Arena for the first time in 2025 and will feature a new, full-body US Open experience—Tennis Smash: Racketville—playable on-site and at home. Nex Playground will feature gameplay in Tennis Smash that mimics actual tennis movements, such as swinging your arms to strike the ball, in which players of all ages can participate, making it easier than ever to try the world’s healthiest sport at home.
