Two Grammy-nominated artists, Mickey Guyton and Ruben Studdard, will perform live during the 2024 US Open finals weekend at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, with Guyton and Studdard performing ahead of the women’s and men’s singles finals, respectively.
Guyton, the four-time Grammy-nominated artist and country music trailblazer, will perform “God Bless America” on the court of Arthur Ashe Stadium ahead of the women’s singles final on Saturday, Sept. 7, scheduled to air live on ESPN at 4 p.m. EST. Guyton will be accompanied by actress, writer, and advocate Natasha Ofili who will perform the piece alongside Guyton in American Sign Language.
Meanwhile, Studdard, the Grammy-nominated R&B artist and winner of Season 2 of American Idol, will perform “America the Beautiful” prior to the US Open men’s singles final on Sunday, Sept. 8, which is scheduled to air live on ABC for the first time at 2 p.m. EST. Studdard will be accompanied by ASL activist, actor and poet Jeremy Lee Stone who will perform the song in American Sign Language.
In US Open tradition, the finals ceremonies will include the presentation of the colors by members of the United States Marine Corps, 6th Communication Battalion, Brooklyn, N.Y., while members of the US Open Ball Crew unfurl a giant American flag across the court.
