Influencer Morgan Riddle was on hand in the Louis Armstrong Stadium player’s box to support longtime partner Taylor Fritz in his second-round, straight-sets defeat over Matteo Berrettini. And her T-shirt made a statement that all at the tournament can all get behind: "I heart NY."
She called the look for this night match one of her more casual outfits, and noted in her “get ready with me” TikTok that the shirt cost a whopping $12.
“Tonight, we are repping our city,” she added.
The famous logo was created in 1977 for a campaign to promote tourism throughout New York state, according to the New York Times. The design has been a New York mainstay ever since, appearing on all sorts of merchandise.
Riddle, who has more than half a million followers on TikTok, told the Times earlier this week that she also already purchased some of this year’s hottest US Open merch: the logo hat.
Though she is a mainstay at the US Open while supporting boyfriend Fritz, Riddle has made her own appearances around the grounds of the tournament. This year, she attended the US Open Opening Night Gala alongside a gaggle of other fashion-forward famous faces, which raised $2.2 million for the USTA Foundation.
As she said during a panel discussion earlier this week, tennis has “evolved into more of a culture moment, where people come and it’s of course about the sport, but it’s also about the outfits, the content and the memes.”
NY “hearts” you too, Morgan!
