At the 2022 US Open, Victoria Azarenka is through to the fourth round for the seventh time in 15 singles appearances. This year, she hopes to win it for the first time, after making it to the finals in 2012, 2013 and 2020.

30 (minutes): The duration of the only singles match at the US Open which Azarenka didn’t finish. In 2010, Azarenka retired in the first set against Gisela Dulko of Argentina in their second-round match. Azarenka collapsed in the seventh game, trailing 1-5 in the first set, later explaining that she had mild concussion because she had tripped over her sweatpants while doing a footwork drill to warm up for the match, fell, and hit her head on the ground.
2018: The year Azarenka returned to Flushing Meadows as a mother. Her son, Leo, was born in December of 2016, which kept her out of that year’s tournament. In 2017, she didn’t play of a custody case that wouldn’t allow her to leave California. Those were the only two years she didn’t play singles in New York City.
