A Grand Slam contender attracts interest from a multitude of avenues.
Take Ons Jabeur.
The Wimbledon finalist has shot to prominence off the back of some stellar recent seasons.
The No. 5 seed returned to the US Open third round for the fourth consecutive campaign with a 7-5, 6-2 victory to edge a gallant effort from American wild card Elizabeth Mandlik in the Grandstand on Wednesday.
Someone who has been impressed by Jabeur’s progression is singer Seal. The British star, a dedicated tennis fan who was courtside for Jannik Sinner’s five-set epic with Daniel Altmaier on Tuesday, was captured on social media chatting to the Tunisian backstage here at Flushing Meadows.
“His next album," joked Jabeur, referring to their conversation topic. "I saw him first time in Indian Wells. It was last year. Surprised me, because he was following me, and he said, 'I love you, you're the sneaky player. I love how you play.'
"Yesterday when I saw him, it was, like, 'Hi, how are you? It was nice to see you.' He was very happy, he hugged me, talked about Wimbledon. We talked a little bit about how I inspire Africa, and he was very satisfied with that and he pushed me to continue more and really motivated me."
Talk about a Seal of approval.
