25-0: Novak Djokovic’s record at the majors in 2021. The Serb is three victories away from becoming the first player to win the Grand Slam since Rod Laver in 1969.
8: Number of times that Djokovic has dropped the opening set in his 25 Grand Slam matches in 2021.
84: The length, in minutes, of the first set of Belinda Bencic’s 7-6, 6-3 win over Iga Swiatek. The Swiss saved four set points and has still not dropped a set this year at the US Open.
24: Length, in points of the first-set tiebreak, which was won by Bencic, 13-11. It’s the longest tiebreak played on the women’s side at the US Open in 2021.
28: The length, in points, of the longest men’s singles tiebreak played in the tournament thus far in 2021, which was won by Andreas Seppi over Marton Fucsovics in the fifth set of their first-round battle (15-13).
10: Number of comebacks from two sets to love down by men’s singles players at the US Open, which ties the record for most all-time at US Open (1974 and 2012). The all-time record for comebacks from two sets to love down at a major is 14, which occurred at the 2002 Australian Open.
18: Age of Carlos Alcaraz who became the youngest ATP player to reach the quarterfinals in US Open history with his five-set win over Peter Gojowczyk on Sunday.
1990: Alcaraz is also the youngest men’s singles Grand Slam quarterfinalist at any Slam since Michael Chang at Roland Garros in 1990.
2: Number of 18-year-olds who have reached the quarterfinals at this year’s US Open─Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu.
2001: The last time the US Open had at least one teenager in the quarterfinals of the men’s singles draw and the women’s singles draw. 18-year-old Alcaraz is the men’s representative, while 19-year-old Leylah Fernandez and 18-year-old Raducanu are through on the women’s side.

2008: Botic van de Zandschulp has become the first qualifier to reach the last eight of the US Open in 13 years. He matches the best finish on record by US Open men’s qualifier. Nicolas Escudé reached the quarterfinals from qualifying in 1999, and Gilles Müller repeated the feat in 2008.
The best finish on record by a Grand Slam men’s qualifier is semifinal—most recently achieved by Aslan Karatsev at the 2021 Australian Open.
