Steven Paul Judd is one of 10 diverse and underrepresented artists selected by the USTA to create artwork for the 2021 US Open. Reflecting the artists' unique experiences, the works will be displayed during the two weeks of the event outside of Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Judd's piece, "All My Relations," is an acrylic painting.
About the Artist: Steven Paul Judd is Kiowa and Choctaw from Oklahoma. He’s an artist, screenwriter, filmmaker and visualist. His innovated approach provides a glimpse into a world that is failure to the underrepresented first peoples of the nation and simultaneously brings about a fresh perspectives and understanding among the non-native community thought humor. A prolific visualist whose mash-ups of Native experiences and disposable American pop culture are sly and often downright funny. He was the recipient of the Hatch USA Artist Fellowship and has sold his written screenplays for HBO, Netflix and Disney.
About the Artwork: When most people think of Native Americans, they think of them as a monolith. But there are over 500 different tribes in the US alone. Each with their own unique culture. From their music and food to their songs and language. I wanted to do a mosaic, each beautiful color representing the many different tribes across the land.
