With the current suspension of the ATP and WTA Tours, USOpen.org is reliving some of the biggest tennis matches in the tournament's history in photos. In our latest featured match, we look back at the 2019 US Open women's singles final between Bianca Andreescu and Serena Williams. Watch the full match on the US Open YouTube channel.
Nineteen-year-old Canadian Bianca Andreescu captured her first major title at the 2019 US Open, shocking 23-time Grand Slam singles champion Serena Williams, 6-3, 7-5, in the final.
Andreescu, who had never been past the second round of a Slam before her run in New York, became the first Canadian woman to win a major singles title in the Open era, as well as the first teenager to win a Grand Slam title since Maria Sharapova won the 2006 US Open at the age of 19 years, 132 days.
Here's a look back in photos at last year's women's singles final.
No. 15 seed Andreescu was playing in her first US Open and the fourth Grand Slam main draw of her career in 2019.
Williams, seeded eighth, was competing for the 19th time at the US Open and in her 10th final at the tournament.

Andreescu had a breakthrough season in 2019, winning all three of her career titles during the year, at Indian Wells, Toronto and the US Open. She was named the women's US Open Series Breakout Performer because of her strong results heading into last year's US Open.
Williams, playing in her second straight US Open final, was going for an Open-era record 24th Grand Slam singles title in New York last year. She is a six-time champion at the event, winning titles in 1999, 2002, 2008, and three straight, from 2012-14. That ties her with Chris Evert for the most women's singles championships at the tournament.
Andreescu posted straight-set wins over two-time US Open finalist Caroline Wozniacki in the third round and world No. 10 Belinda Bencic during the fortnight.
Williams dropped only one set en route to the final—a 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 win over 18-year-old American Caty McNally in the second round.
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex and a good friend of Williams', was among the celebrities who attended the women's final.
The 37-year-old American won her 100th career US Open match against Qiang Wang of China in the quarterfinals. She owns a 101-13 record to date in New York.
