Russian teen Anastasia Potapova caused the first upset of the 2019 French Open with a 6-4, 6-2 win over three-time Grand Slam champion and No. 5 seed Angelique Kerber.
Potapova needed just one hour, 13 minutes to earn the biggest win of her career inside Court Philippe-Chatrier, the tournament's biggest stage. It hands Kerber her third first-round loss on the red Parisian dirt in the past four years.
Here's more on Potapova, who will play Yafan Wang of China or fellow teen Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic in Round 2.
