After losing in the 2011 US Open National Playoffs Mixed Doubles Championship final, Yasmin Schnack and Eric Roberson returned to the competition in 2013, hoping this time to win the title and the prize that comes with it: the coveted spot in the US Open mixed doubles main draw.

They were dominant throughout the Championship, securing their spot in Flushing Meadows and the 2013 US Open National Playoffs Mixed Doubles title on Saurday with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Matt Brooklyn and Stephanie Wetmore in New Haven, Conn.

Schnack and Roberson were the USTA Northern California champions and are both former collegiate stars. Schnack, 25, played for UCLA as a collegian and was a 2010 NCAA doubles finalist; she reached No. 140 in the world in doubles last year. Roberson, 27, was an all-conference performer for Boise State.

The US Open National Playoffs Mixed Doubles Championship took place Aug. 21-24 at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale in New Haven, Conn., in conjunction with the New Haven Open at Yale, an Emirates Airline US Open Series event.
