Anderson wins US Open National Playoffs women's title

Robin Anderson capped off a dream week by upsetting No. 2 seed Yasmin Schnack in the final 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 to win the women's title at the 2011 US Open National Playoffs.

US Open National Playoffs – Women’s Championship

 

The US Open National Playoffs – Women’s Championship featured the winners or top finishers from each of the 16 sectional qualifying tournaments held throughout the country, with the women’s champion, Robin Anderson, earning a wild card into the 2011 US Open Qualifying Tournament.

The US Open National Playoffs – Women’s Championship wase held August 18-21 in conjunction with the New Haven Open at Yale in New Haven, Conn., the final Olympus US Open Series event of the year. The 16 women advancing to the women’s championship competed in a single-elimination tournament, with four women seeded according to the world rankings.
