Strode wins second straight National Playoffs men's title

Defending champion Blake Strode retained his title in a hard fought win 7-6 (8), 7-6 (4) over Nathan Healey in the 2011 US Open National Playoffs Men's Championship.

The 2011 US Open National Playoffs – Men’s Championship featured the winners or top finishers from each of the 16 sectional qualifying tournaments held throughout the country, with the men’s champion, Blake Strode, earning a wild card into the 2011 US Open Qualifying Tournament and a chance to qualify for the 2011 US Open.
 
The US Open National Playoffs – Men’s Championship was held August 18-21 in conjunction with the New Haven Open at Yale in New Haven, Conn., the final Olympus US Open Series event of the year. The 16 men advancing to the men’s championship competed in a single-elimination tournament, with four men seeded according to the world rankings.

2011 USONP: By The Numbers

Sixteen men, 16 women and 16 mixed doubles teams qualified for the 2011 US Open National Playoffs Championships, held in conjunction with the New Haven Open at Yale, an Olympus US Open Series women’s event in August with Blake Strode and Robin Anderson winning the men's and women's titles, respectively, and Christina Fusano and David Martin winning the inaugural mixed doubles title.
