Strode, Litvak win singles titles at New England Qualifier

The US Open National Playoffs defending men's champion, Blake Strode, took the first step to defending his title by winning the 2011 New England Sectional Qualifier. He also won mixed doubles with Whitney Jones. In women's singles, Lena Litvak won the title.

Shawn Cormier is a long shot. A really long shot. Cormier, a 44-year-old former college tennis player from East Brookfield, competed in the 2011 USTA New England Sectional Qualifying Tournament for a chance to play in the US Open.
